Persephone’s myth, tied to Hades and Demeter, reflects the cycles of the seasons. Through data storytelling in comic form, I explore how solstices and equinoxes influence temperature, daylight, and weather. From spring’s pollen blooms to summer’s energy peaks, fall’s harvest, and winter’s snowy stillness, these natural rhythms mirror Demeter’s emotions, shaping the world’s seasonal changes.
Masked Markets
Hidden in plain view, my masks delve into themes of climate change, trade, and the evolution of machinery. The climate masks reveal the harsh truths of ecological crises often obscured by false assurances, portraying challenges like coral decline, melting ice, and resource depletion. My trade masks blend symbolic animals—bulls, bears, and wolves—to critique financial systems, wealth inequality, and concealed agendas. Lastly, the Unmasking the Machine series combines electric and mechanical elements, illustrating the tension and harmony between gas-powered and electric technologies in the shifting automotive world.
